How do Isadora 3 and 4 USB Key Licenses work? Print

An Isadora USB Key License is permanently associated with a special USB key (or “dongle”) This Buy-to-Own license is purchased with a single one-time payment, and you will be shipped a physical USB key which functions as an Isadora license while plugged into a computer.

Support Period

Isadora 4 USB Key Licenses permanently support the use of any USB key version of Isadora 4 released from launch through two years after the purchase date. If desired, this support period can be extended later by purchasing an additional year of updates.

Cross Platform

The Isadora 3 and 4 USB Key License is cross-platform and may be used with both Windows and macOS.

Multiple Computers

The first time you use a computer you will need to register your Isadora USB Key License on it, but there is no limit to the number of computers on which you can register to your Isadora USB Key License. However, Isadora will operate in demo mode on a computer unless the USB key is physically plugged into it, so only the license can only be used on one computer at a time (the one the USB key is connected to).

Using an Isadora USB Key License is the fastest cross-platform option for moving a license from computer to computer and is ideal for bouncing between multiple computers quickly, especially when internet access is not available. It is also ideal for academic institutions that wish to "check out" licenses to students, faculty, or staff.

Upgrading your Isadora 3 USB Key License

Isadora USB Key Licenses are not automatically upgraded when the next major version of Isadora released. Upgrades can be purchased in the TroikaTronix Product Page of FastSpring's online store .

Lost and Stolen Keys

Please be aware that we cannot replace a lost or stolen USB key. If you lose your USB key, you will need to purchase an entirely new Isadora USB Key License – not just a replacement USB key.

We have no choice but to maintain a strict “No Replacements” policy because we cannot verify that a USB key has actually been lost or stolen. We advise you to be very careful with your USB key – it is worth the price of a new Isadora USB Key License!
